The De Putron Challenge 2020

JE3’s Chief Information Security Officer, Colin King, is delighted to be judging this year’s Coding round of the De Putron Challenge.

Year 8 and Year 6 students from Jersey’s and Guernsey’s schools and colleges will compete this November in the De Putron Challenge (virtual edition).

The De Putron Challenge is a fun, friendly and educational quiz, run in a format similar to that of University Challenge. Due to the coronavirus, this year the challenge will be formatted differently and will be held virtually.
Students will be asked questions on the new theme this year which is ‘Dear Future’. The winning teams will receive money for their schools and schools that take part in all three challenges will receive book vouchers.

This year’s first challenge will be live on 16th November until 20th November, challenge two will be live on 23rd November until 27th November and the third and final challenge will be live on 30th November until 4th December.

Hayley de Putron, trustee of the Ana Leaf Foundation, is once again looking forward to this year’s challenge: “Academic prowess is something that should be celebrated at any age and we want to show that it is cool to be clever. We really hope that this vision is achieved and that all of the teams enjoy and learn from the experience. It is fantastic to see how smart young Channel Islanders are.”
